Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Brand Manager to join their team in Midrand. The primary purpose of this role is to drive brand growth within the organisation and ensure that all products, services, and product lines under the brand align with the needs and expectations of current and potential customers. The Brand Manager will also play a key role in developing marketing strategies, managing brand visibility, and supporting sales performance across stores.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5–8 years’ experience in Marketing and Brand Management
- Knowledge of retail operations including promotions, sales, stock management, and reporting
Advantageous
- Previous management experience within a retail environment
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Implement brand and sales strategies at store level in line with industry standards
- Ensure all brand strategies comply with relevant industry legislation
- Regularly review and adjust brand strategies to improve performance and increase sales
- Promote and champion the brand internally to ensure alignment with company goals
- Support the successful implementation of promotional campaigns involving brand products
- Conduct market research to stay informed about customer trends and anticipate future developments
- Analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and prepare detailed reports
- Review financial performance reports, monitor budget deviations, and implement corrective actions where required
Stock Control
- Monitor and maintain stock levels and sales performance to ensure stores remain well stocked
- Recommend and assist with stock orders based on historical sales data and forecasted demand
- Ensure stock levels remain within target ranges at store level, including during promotional periods
Branding
- Manage branding materials, including maintenance, storage, and distribution of indoor and outdoor branding assets
- Establish brand guidelines, style guides, brand vision, and value propositions for both short-term and long-term objectives
- Oversee in-store signage programs to ensure consistency in branding and messaging
Product Launch
- Deliver presentations internally and externally for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and communication strategies
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors and suppliers
- Develop and manage promotional materials to strengthen product branding
- Coordinate the selection, ordering, and distribution of marketing and promotional materials
