The Butchery Manager is responsible for leading and supervising the Butchery department within a Pick n Pay Corporate store. This role involves planning, organising, directing, motivating, and providing hands-on operational support to ensure the department achieves its objectives and contributes to overall company performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in butchery

Competencies

  • Customer-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Business acumen with understanding of retail operations
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
  • Understanding of food retail operations
  • Leadership and team management skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service within the Butchery
  • Prepare products following company guidelines and standards
  • Maintain proper butchery merchandising flow
  • Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are consistently applied
  • Accurately complete all administrative tasks for the Butchery
  • Ensure product availability to drive sales and achieve budget targets
  • Lead, monitor, and coach team members for effective performance and productivity
