Data Quality Officer

Job Description
Anova is seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Officer to validate, collate, and audit data captured by programme teams. The role ensures data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with funder and DOH standards. The Data Quality Officer will maintain and prepare data for reporting to RSs, DOH, and PR, ensuring all information is correctly logged, processed, and accessible for programmatic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Assessments

  • Accurately capture data from paper forms into designated databases following Anova/NACOSA guidelines.
  • Track and log all paper forms received using the in-house tracking system.
  • Review paper forms for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Verify data from paper forms against electronic databases.
  • Handle and store data securely and respond to internal queries regarding data delivery and schedules.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies promptly.
  • Supervise staff responsible for data collection and ensure quality of monthly statistics.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with stakeholders to support company and departmental goals.
  • Engage with adolescent and youth programme platforms and Technical Working Groups (TWGs) as a representative of Anova.

General Administration

  • Create and maintain data files and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all documents are filed according to Anova SOPs.
  • Perform administrative duties for the data management department, including managing office supplies, handling stationery requests, and maintaining client records.

Human Capital Management

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
  • Adhere to all data management SOPs, guidelines, and confidentiality agreements.

Company Compliance

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures as prescribed.
  • Report unsafe activities to Senior Management or Human Resources.
  • Maintain decision-making authority as allocated to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Social Sciences, Development, Health, or related discipline (IT/Data Management qualification preferred).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in data capturing, monitoring, and auditing.
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS, TB, and key population programmes.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficient computer skills, including email, database management, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic graphics.
