Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of Delivery Drivers and Assistants to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
  • Support the Distribution team with operational requirements, including HHC usage, Driver’s License and PDP renewals, and vehicle servicing.
  • Optimize secondary distribution performance through cost-effective and efficient routing and vehicle scheduling.
  • Oversee end-to-end distribution center operations, including loading, delivery, debriefing, customer invoicing, credit notes, and claims processing.
  • Monitor KPIs, track reports, and implement corrective actions to meet performance targets.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and functionality of all work equipment.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with Health, Safety, and EHS standards.
  • Manage Stratopod delivery/invoicing, system security, and data accuracy.
  • Actively contribute to Plant, Distribution, Supply Chain, and Shipping cost management initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with all business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure accurate execution of Key Accounts delivery plans and track daily delivery data.
  • Control pallet management, minimize write-offs, and manage overtime efficiently.
  • Monitor adherence to warehouse procedures and loading processes by staff.
  • Maintain a positive industrial relations climate within Key Accounts.
  • Implement performance management, training, and disciplinary actions where necessary.
  • Ensure SOPs, SLAs, and operational routines are effective and consistently followed.
  • Track service levels, on-time delivery, fill rates, and customer communication regarding delays.
  • Manage stock rotation, maintain inventory record accuracy (IRA), and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Handle non-conforming quality issues and escalate/resolves them promptly.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Equivalent (NQF Level 4).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in FMCG distribution operations.
  • Strong people management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in distribution environments.
