General Manager – DSV Vacancies
Main Purpose of the Role
The General Manager is responsible for leading the Telco and Special Projects portfolio while establishing and growing a premium white glove solution within DSV. The role provides strategic direction to drive customer retention, new business development, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, value creation, and the delivery of innovative, technology-enabled last-mile logistics solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ end-to-end experience within the supply chain and/or telecommunications industry
- Proven track record in managing account management teams with responsibility for customer retention and new business growth in the local market
- Strong leadership capability with sound strategic management skills
- Demonstrated expertise in tender management and solution design
- Experience engaging and presenting to internal EXCO members
- Excellent presentation and communication skills

- Advanced knowledge of the telecommunications sector and white glove service solutions
- Previous experience managing special projects within the logistics industry
Computer Packages
- Advanced proficiency in DSV-specific office automation systems
Qualifications
- Matric is essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification, degree, or diploma
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle, and willingness to work overtime and travel nationally
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across the Telco portfolio and all special projects
- Establish and grow white glove services as a new revenue stream, including secure server handling for the technology and data centre industry, with expansion into sensitive and high-value equipment movements across other sectors
- Drive customer retention strategies and identify new business growth opportunities
- Collaborate with multiple DSV business units to deliver integrated, cross-silo logistics solutions
- Lead responses to tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs by designing tailored logistics solutions for Telco clients and special projects
- Manage commercial negotiations and account management for specialized projects, including IEC and high-tech solutions with warehousing and on-demand shipping under strict SLAs
- Lead annual pricing increase negotiations and ensure strong contractual governance
- Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively to drive operational efficiency and business growth
- Maintain strong financial oversight, including P&L management, budgeting, and a clear understanding of revenue and EBIT drivers
