Job Description
The Goods Receiving Supervisor is responsible for receiving and returning stock to and from suppliers and other stores. The role ensures accurate processing of goods receiving documentation, system updates, correct stock labelling, and timely distribution of stock to the sales floor for merchandising in line with company standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with at least 1 year relevant experience, or a minimum of 2 years related experience

• Ability to communicate in English and preferably the dominant local language

• Above-average numerical skills

• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service

• Ability to work effectively under pressure

• Computer literacy

• Willingness to work shifts and weekends

Key Performance Areas

Receiving and Inter-Branch Transfers

• Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during receiving and dispatch of stock

• Receive stock from suppliers and accurately identify and balance goods against supplier invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders

• Complete and stamp proof of delivery documentation and return to suppliers as required

• Capture goods receiving transactions accurately on the system within prescribed timeframes

• Ensure invoices with discrepancies are amended, endorsed, signed by the supplier representative, and vehicle registration details recorded

• Process all inter-branch transfers in and out within set timeframes and ensure documentation is complete and filed

Stock Distribution

• Ensure all received stock is cleared from the goods receiving office and merchandised on the sales floor within prescribed time limits

Stock Labelling and Pricing

• Ensure all stock without printed SKUs is labelled correctly with the appropriate SKU

• Verify accuracy of printed SKUs and correct any errors identified

• Ensure compliance with Cashbuild pricing policies

• Action pending price changes in line with the Cashbuild Way

Supplier Claims and Corrections

• Validate all supplier claims with supporting pickup slips or credit notes attached to adjustment vouchers

• Ensure all claims and corrections are authorised by the Store Manager

• Raise supplier claims only when stock is scheduled for immediate collection

Security Awareness

• Ensure the receiving gate is not left unattended when open

• Secure receiving stamps and purchase order delivery books in a lockable cupboard or drawer

• Ensure the goods receiving office is locked when not in use

• Ensure supplier truck crews remain at their vehicles and do not loiter within the store

Ready for Business

• Maintain a clean and orderly goods receiving office at all times

• Clear the receiving area of excess and damaged stock, excluding stock awaiting return to suppliers

• Adhere to all Ready for Business and Beyond My Control processes

Customer Service

• Comply with the Cashbuild dress code and display a visible name badge at all times

• Assist with supplier queries professionally and efficiently

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers interacting with the goods receiving function

Safety (OHSA)

• Ensure the first aid box is accessed only by authorised personnel or the Store Manager

• Maintain OHSA compliance within the area of responsibility

• Report all safety concerns to the Store Manager
