About the Programme
Rand Water, in collaboration with Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, invites suitably qualified and unemployed graduates to join a three-year fixed-term Graduate Internship Programme in the fields of Geomatics and Geo-Informatics. This programme offers an opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to South Africa’s water sector.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in the relevant discipline from accredited universities (BSc Geomatics, BSc Geo-Informatics, BSc Honours/Masters in Geo-Informatics)
- Unemployed South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Under the age of 35 (aligned with NSDS III)
- Academic record aligned with professional registration requirements of relevant statutory councils (ECSA, SAGC, SACPLAN, SACNASP, SACPCMP)
- Registered as a candidate with the respective councils is an advantage
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence is advantageous
- Commitment to Employment Equity principles

Shortlisted candidates will undergo assessments, security clearance, and qualification verification. Original qualification certificates and academic transcripts/statement of results will be required.
Primary Duties
The programme seeks motivated and results-driven graduates who are team players, possess knowledge of their field, and can effectively apply this knowledge. Candidates should communicate well at all levels and plan and organise workloads to optimise performance.

- Demonstrate all competencies required by respective statutory councils during the training period (ECSA, SAGC, SACNASP, SACPLAN, SACPCMP)
