About the Program
Value Logistics is seeking an organised and proactive Parts Administrator to manage inventory, track stock levels, issue parts accurately, and support the workshop’s maintenance schedule. The role ensures timely replenishment, accurate records, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Purpose of the Job
The Parts Administrator is responsible for managing the parts inventory, picking and issuing components per job cards, maintaining stock accuracy, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring the workshop has all necessary parts for scheduled maintenance. The role also involves stock counting, monitoring slow-moving items, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Pick and issue parts according to job cards
- Update and distribute the backorder report to the Parts Manager
- Record daily stock-outs and ensure timely replenishment
- Ensure pre-booked parts are purchased and available before scheduled vehicle maintenance
- Raise purchase orders for non-stock items or buy-outs
- Follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries and collections
- Ensure timely issuance of stock upon receipt
- Conduct accurate cycle counts and stock takes
- Track parts movement and complete all stock transfers
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and notify the Parts Manager
- Process credit returns accurately
- Support additional tasks within the Parts Department as required
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Follow housekeeping procedures to ensure a tidy and safe environment
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and requirements at all times
General
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and effective customer interaction
- Work independently and use initiative to complete tasks efficiently
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 2–5 years of experience in parts administration
- Computer literate
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Embrace system advantageous
