G4S Vacancies – Senior Technician

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our team in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will report to the Branch Project Manager and will play a critical role in leading technical operations, ensuring contract performance, and maintaining service excellence.

Main Responsibilities

Contract & Financial Management

  • Ensure effective management and administration of technology contracts to support strong financial performance

  • Plan and manage SLA contracts with a focus on maintenance efficiency, sustainability, labour control, and cost-effectiveness

  • Handle contract margin management: billable hours, job cards, costs, and timelines

Staff Management & Leadership

  • Allocate staff effectively according to workflow and job requirements

  • Coordinate daily tasks and operational needs with office teams

  • Train, guide, and upskill subordinates

  • Evaluate staff performance and maintain high motivation levels

  • Ensure compliance with G4S code of conduct and workplace behaviour standards

Operational Management

  • Coordinate maintenance and project workflow activities to ensure successful execution

  • Plan and oversee daily tasks and technical standards of subordinates

  • Conduct and manage quality checks and inspections to maintain service excellence

Client Relations & Service Quality

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

  • Ensure adherence to operational processes and quality standards

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual departmental safety plans

  • Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and refresher programs

  • Report, discuss, and follow up on safety incidents

  • Comply with all safety procedures and distribute safety information when required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Valid Driver’s Licence

  • Formal Technical Training (advantageous)

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Electronic Security Services or Maintenance

  • Strong technical experience with:

    • CCTV

    • Access Control (primary focus)

    • Intruder Detection

Software Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of:

    • Time & Attendance systems

    • Access Control systems

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • CCTV

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols

  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace)

Hardware Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of:

    • Time & Attendance hardware

    • Access Control hardware

    • Gate motors

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • CCTV

    • Alarm systems

    • Electric fencing

    • Intercoms

    • PA systems

  • Strong knowledge of CAT5 wiring and communication protocols
