About the Program
Value Logistics is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor to coordinate and supervise daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable delivery services. This role is critical in maintaining fleet readiness, managing driver performance and documentation, and ensuring full compliance with operational standards.
Purpose of the Job
The Site Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising on-site operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery services. The role includes monitoring driver attendance and documentation, overseeing route planning and dispatch, ensuring fleet safety and readiness, and enforcing compliance with operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Supervise and monitor driver attendance and absenteeism to ensure optimal staffing levels on site
- Coordinate all driver-related requirements in collaboration with the Labour Broker and Site Manager
- Ensure accurate capture of drivers’ hours on weekly wage reports
- Monitor and control all fuel-related processes, including refuelling, consumption tracking, EDC/Nedfleet card usage, and reconciliation
- Ensure fleet condition complies with SEC Manual standards
- Coordinate daily route planning, vehicle loading/offloading, documentation handovers, and driver dispatch
- Ensure compliance with procedures for accident claims, product claims, and vehicle breakdowns
- Communicate operational updates and distribution activities to the Site Manager
- Debrief drivers’ trip sheets and reconcile with vehicle tracking reports
- Supervise pre- and post-trip inspections, logbooks, workshop bookings, and COF checks
- Manage ad hoc vehicle requirements as operationally required
- Ensure all driver documentation is valid and up to date, including PDPs, licences, medical certificates, and relevant certifications
- Control the issuance and use of PPE and uniforms for on-site staff
- Ensure all vehicles have functional tracking units and arrange repairs when faulty
- Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Conduct monthly panic button testing for all vehicles
- Conduct and submit monthly tyre surveys
- Ensure all deliveries meet front-end planning requirements
- Confirm all loads are secure and compliant with safety standards before dispatch
- Ensure all vehicle keys are securely locked away at the end of each workday
Administrative Duties
- Compile and submit operational reports timeously, including:
- Vehicle Utilisation Report
- Absenteeism Report
- Vehicles in Workshop Report
- Fleet Checklist
- Weekly Site Report
- Fuel Consumption Report
- Vehicle Tracking Reports
- Daily Statistics Report
- Fleet Control Report
- Stats Report
- Supervise the completion, handover, and sign-off of all customer documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Customer Service & Relationship Coordination
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by consistently meeting agreed service levels
- Monitor customer KPIs and service level agreements to ensure targets are achieved
- Compile and present customer KPI reports, operational feedback, and proactively highlight constraints or risks
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the logistics industry
