Spar Vacancies – Store Planner – Johannesburg
SPAR South Rand, based in Jet Park, is seeking a highly skilled Store Planner to collaborate with Retailers and internal teams on store design, layout planning, and built-environment specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing new concepts, preparing layout presentations, and supporting the Design and Development Managers with high-quality planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare initial project briefs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Create built plans and maintain an accurate asset register.

Conduct onsite measurements of existing structures.

Develop new and updated store layout plans.

Research trends, equipment, and specifications within the retail and built environment.

Manage and document project information through structured administrative processes.

Produce high-quality interior design presentations, including 3D visual concepts.

Work collaboratively within a team to meet deadlines and project targets.

Compile and organise new and existing store photographs.

Liaise with internal stakeholders throughout each project.

Prepare design-related reports.
Minimum Requirements

Matric or equivalent qualification.

Tertiary qualification in Architectural Draughting (required).

Interior Design qualification will be an advantage.

Proficient in AutoCAD; strong working knowledge of SketchUp and Revit.

Experience with CorelDraw will be advantageous.

Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transport.

3–5 years’ experience in Store Planning or Design.

Strong spatial planning ability with artistic flair and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and follow guidance from cross-functional leaders.

Understanding of the built environment and retail design sector.

Technical drawing ability and innovative thinking.
