Role Overview
Tiger Brands is seeking a Trade Marketing Manager who will be accountable for the development and delivery of strategic Trade Marketing plans by channel and cluster, including digital and e-commerce platforms. The role focuses on driving category and brand presence, value, and shopper engagement at the point of purchase, ensuring these plans are embedded into Annual Customer Plans, Joint Business Plans, and operational execution plans.

The Trade Marketing Manager will leverage robust commercial analytics, portfolio performance, and pricing dynamics to optimise competitive brand positioning, shopper and trade value, and overall business profitability. This role plays a key part in elevating Trade Marketing within the Business Unit while contributing to a high-performance and engaging work environment at Tiger Brands.

Key Responsibilities

Channel, Cluster, and Customer Understanding
• Develop deep understanding of shopper missions, category roles, customer strategies, trade media platforms, and executional capabilities across channels and clusters
• Maintain awareness of competitor activity, joint working initiatives, and their impact across key trade partners
• Conduct detailed category and basket analytics to identify growth opportunities, trends, and potential risks to category and brand performance

Integrated Business Planning
• Collaborate with Sales and Shopper Marketing to develop channel, cluster, and customer-specific execution plans, including presence, value, and engagement across trade media platforms
• Support Sales in Joint Business Planning and customer-specific initiatives to strengthen category and brand execution
• Align operational execution plans, including Perfect Store, go-to-market launches, and shopper campaigns, with customer strategies
• Review Trade Marketing plans quarterly and adjust based on market dynamics, risks, and emerging opportunities

Revenue Management
• Partner with Revenue Management and Shopper Marketing to optimise pack and price architecture by channel and cluster
• Define promotional mechanics and pricing strategies to grow basket size, drive brand switching, and improve profitability
• Work closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate pricing accruals and effective execution of approved pricing strategies

Performance Management
• Ensure all Trade Marketing plans are delivered on time and in full, achieving defined objectives and ROI
• Support go-to-market execution for new product launches to maximise impact in trade
• Prepare regular performance reviews covering sales-out and basket KPIs, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions
• Support Sales in customer reviews and Joint Business Plan updates with insight-led recommendations

Leadership and Collaboration
• Strong ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Revenue Management, Sales, Operations, and key customers

Analysis and Insights
• Proven capability in category analytics, channel and customer-level data mining, and translating insights into actionable strategies

Project Management
• Strong project management skills with a proactive approach to performance and delivery

Communication and Negotiation
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence internal and external stakeholders
• Negotiation skills when engaging with trade partners will be an advantage

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree (3-year) in a commercial field
• 2–3 years’ experience in FMCG Trade Marketing, Category Management, or Revenue Management
• Category Management experience is advantageous
• Brand Marketing experience will be beneficial
