Environment:
Manage accounting and monitor internal controls as the next Financial Controller for a prestigious Tourism and Hospitality company specializing in luxury accommodation. Your role will encompass banking and finance activities, accurate reporting and tax compliance, insurance recommendations, and corporate documentation.

Duties:

Operations:

  • Compile and capture all revenue and month-end journals.
  • Daily banking and bank statement reconciliation.
  • Credit card and cash reconciliation.
  • Capture and reconcile loan accounts.
  • Monitor and follow up on open accounts.
  • Reconcile petty cash counts.
  • Enforce stock procedures and conduct spot checks across departments (kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping).
  • Identify slow-moving stock and implement solutions.
  • Verify stock valuation and maintain order book security.
  • Ensure compliance with stock receiving systems.
  • Update staff rent records.
  • Prepare income statements and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Manage Boatyard rent (Debtors and Creditors).
  • Review and close house accounts.
  • Assist in compiling financial reports.

Administration:

  • Update pricing records.
  • Upload function specifications as instructed.
  • Adjust seasonal changes (menus, drinks, bedding, etc.).
  • Track money vouchers.

Management:

  • Support all departments as needed.
  • Complete at least two duty shifts monthly.
  • Assist the Host Manager.
  • Ensure financial procedures are followed by staff.
  • Generate daily revenue reports.

Human Resources:

  • Review and verify staff leave documentation (medical certificates, family responsibility leave, etc.).
  • Ensure rostering complies with labor laws (shift and break times).
  • Complete deactivation and Final Payment Checklist (FPC) upon staff termination.
  • Maintain Training Registers.
  • Register new staff on the Biometric Attendance System.
  • Verify timekeeping and payroll accuracy.
  • Ensure operational Technology Solutions and project management efficiency.
  • Confirm secure storeroom locks and vehicle fuel management.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • Relevant Financial tertiary qualification.

Experience/Skills:

  • 2+ years in the Hospitality industry.
  • Advanced Excel (Intermediate level).
  • Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Micros, and Ideal Stock.
