Purpose of the Job
The Site Controller is responsible for managing fleet operations, controlling costs, overseeing delivery planning, and ensuring efficient on-site performance in line with Value Logistics standards.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicles
• Maintain vehicle services, cleanliness, and overall condition
• Coordinate hiring of ad-hoc vehicles
• Conduct daily vehicle tracking
• Manage vehicle workshop-related costs

Debriefing
• Monitor stats and ensure PODs meet Value and client standards
• Ensure all driver debriefing forms are received and accounted for
• Manage POD returns and resolve related customer queries
• Analyse trip sheets and verify vehicle arrivals
• Cross-check movement reports against trip sheets

Administration
• Compile and maintain all site reports
• Manage vehicle breakdown processes
• Control wages by accurately recording staff hours
• Schedule staff and vehicles to ensure optimal productivity
• Ensure both vehicle and staff productivity meet required standards

Accidents
• Complete all accident and incident documentation
• Schedule regular driver training with DTA to reduce damages
• Ensure drivers renew PRDPs on time to avoid fines or illegal operations
• Manage driver fines promptly and take corrective action when trends emerge

Main Purpose
• Plan and dispatch all local loads from the site
• Oversee delivery planning and staff scheduling to maximize load utilization and productivity
• Manage receiving and dispatching of stock

Route Planning
• Schedule vehicles and drivers
• Plan customer delivery sequences

Daily Duties
• File all reports and queries, including R&M
• Manage breakdowns and claims
• Prepare daily operations reports
• Handle daily dispatch according to client requirements
• Maintain driver and vehicle files
• Process weekly wages and weekly reports (KM, fuel, wages)
• Oversee vehicle checklist control
• Capture daily stats
• Manage EDC fuel control
• Coordinate ad-hoc and replacement vehicle hires
• Receive stock from client factory
• Supervise on-site staff

Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 2–3 years’ experience in a logistics environment

Skills Requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong planning skills
• Fleet supervision experience
• Staff supervision skills
