Value Logistics – Site Supervisor
Purpose of the Job
This role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and supervision of transport and fleet operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery services. The position focuses on driver management, route planning, fleet readiness, safety compliance, and strict adherence to operational, accident, and product claim procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Supervise and control driver attendance registers and manage absenteeism to ensure optimal staffing levels

Coordinate all driver-related requirements with the Labour Broker and Regional Manager
-
Ensure accurate capture of driver hours on weekly wage reports
-
Coordinate, supervise, and control all fuel-related activities including refuelling, fuel consumption, EDC/Nedfleet card usage, and fuel reconciliations
-
Ensure overall fleet condition complies with SEC Manual requirements
-
Coordinate and control daily route planning, vehicle loading and offloading, customer documentation handover, and driver dispatch
-
Ensure full compliance with procedures related to accident claims, product claims, and vehicle breakdowns
-
Maintain effective communication with the Regional Manager regarding all operational and distribution activities
-
Debrief driver trip sheets and reconcile them with vehicle tracking reports
-
Coordinate and supervise pre- and post-trip inspections, logbooks, workshop bookings, and COF requirements
-
Control and manage ad hoc vehicle requirements

Ensure all driver documentation is valid and up to date, including PDPs, driver’s licences, medical certificates, and specialist permits
-
Control the issuing and usage of PPE and uniforms for all on-site staff

Ensure vehicle tracking systems are fully operational and faulty units are booked for repairs

Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, safe, and organised site
-
Ensure monthly vehicle panic button tests and tyre surveys are completed
-
Confirm that all deliveries are completed according to front-end planning
-
Ensure all trip IDs are loaded onto the Trackmatic schedule and closed daily
-
Verify that all loads are safe and secure prior to dispatch
-
Ensure all vehicle keys, EDC cards, and mobile phones are securely locked away at the end of each shift

Management Reports covering STOs, average loading times, and out-of-area movements

Supervise the completion, handover, and sign-off of all customer-related documentation
Customer Service Duties

Build and maintain strong customer relationships by consistently meeting service level expectations

Supervise and monitor customer KPIs and service levels to ensure all targets are achieved

Compile and present customer-required KPIs, operational reports, feedback, and highlight constraints proactively
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience within a warehousing environment
