Job Overview
FlySafair is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Major Module Specialist to manage and oversee major aircraft modules throughout their lifecycle. The role ensures compliance with contractual, technical, and airworthiness requirements while supporting effective lease management, maintenance planning, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Review and verify records of major modules at induction and redelivery

Plan and manage the movement and availability of major modules across the fleet

Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and airworthiness requirements

Remain up to date with developing Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins affecting major modules
-
Maintain accurate administrative and contractual records throughout the lease term
-
Monitor compliance with engine and airframe lease conditions to minimise redelivery risk
-
Ensure MRO, AMO, and CAMO functions are applied in line with lease-specific requirements
-
Communicate operational limitations contained within lease agreements to the Operations department
-
Prepare detailed work scopes for shop visits

Coordinate and monitor shop visits to ensure adherence to technical, quality, and contractual standards
-
Provide accurate and timely reports to Lessors
-
Monitor leased aircraft and engines to ensure compliance with contract and redelivery requirements
-
Oversee commercial aspects of lease agreements related to major modules
-
Ensure invoices are accurately processed and escalated where required
-
Monitor and ensure all applicable warranties and credits are claimed
-
Plan and control stock levels to ensure sufficient availability of major modules
-
Educate and support internal departments to maintain contractual and regulatory compliance
-
Implement and monitor internal controls and address non-compliance effectively
-
Provide expert guidance on maintenance agreements for major modules
-
Support management in reviewing and interpreting contractual requirements and wording
-
Contribute inputs to new contract negotiations and forecasting activities
-
Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding policy or requirement changes
-
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Lessors, suppliers, and internal teams
-
Support team members to achieve departmental and organisational objectives
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Qualification in a relevant aviation technical field
-
5–8 years’ experience in technical contract administration or a related technical role
Advantageous Experience and Knowledge
-
Experience working with a CAMO maintenance system
-
Background in aircraft records, aviation regulations, aviation quality standards, and lease or engine contract administration
-
Practical aviation experience
Additional Requirements

Willingness to work additional hours and travel as operationally required

Strong understanding of aircraft systems and lease economic structures

Computer proficiency with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Understanding of generic CAMO control systems
