Job Description
The Crew Resource Management (CRM) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality CRM training that promotes safety, effective teamwork, and sound decision-making across the organisation. This role supports FlySafair’s safety culture by ensuring CRM principles are embedded in daily operations and aligned with regulatory and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct CRM training sessions both online and in person.

Deliver initial and recurrent CRM training to FlySafair employees.

Facilitate scenario-based learning using real-life case studies and simulations.

Adapt training delivery to suit different operational roles and experience levels.

Contribute to the design and development of annual CRM refresher programmes.

Ensure all training content complies with applicable regulatory standards, including ICAO and CAA requirements.

Customise CRM modules to address organisational needs, safety trends, and human factors data.

Incorporate feedback and lessons learned from incident reports, audits, and safety investigations.

Provide structured feedback on communication, leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills.

Document training outcomes and identify participants who may require additional support or coaching.

Actively promote a strong safety culture, positive morale, and effective crew cooperation.

Liaise with operational teams, safety departments, and training stakeholders.

Identify CRM-related risks or trends from flight operations and feed insights back to management and training teams.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records to ensure regulatory compliance.

Participate in train-the-trainer programmes and remain current on CRM best practices and human factors research.

Attend standardisation and quality assurance meetings with fellow instructors.

Facilitate or contribute to debriefs following incidents or safety events linked to CRM factors.

Provide targeted coaching or interventions where CRM competencies are identified as contributing factors.

Support additional CRM-related duties as required.
Job Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (Essential).
-
Commercial Pilot Licence or higher (Essential).

Valid instructor rating or completion of a recognised train-the-trainer programme (Essential).

Previous experience in human factors or CRM training (Advantageous).

Willingness to work extended hours or overtime when operationally required.

Reliable Wi-Fi connectivity to support online training delivery.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures, particularly within Flight Operations.

In-depth understanding of human performance, limitations, and behavioural factors affecting safety.

Knowledge of risk management, threat and error management principles.
-
Excellent CRM competencies, including communication, leadership, teamwork, decision-making, and situational awareness.
