Job Description
The Certified Aviation Tech (Avionics) is responsible for performing avionics maintenance, inspections, and fault rectification to ensure the continued airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability of the aircraft fleet in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform line maintenance and scheduled avionics inspections on aircraft.

Conduct routine and detailed inspections of aircraft avionics systems.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify avionics faults efficiently and accurately.

Carry out weekly service checks and thorough daily aircraft inspections.

Execute required maintenance tasks to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
-
Adhere strictly to approved maintenance procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Accurately record, certify, and sign off all maintenance activities in accordance with SACAA regulations.
-
Comply with all health, safety, fire, and accident prevention requirements at all times.

Ensure work areas, tooling, and equipment are safe, serviceable, and properly maintained before commencing tasks.

Apply analytical problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.

Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure efficient workflow and timely task completion.
Job Requirements
-
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (Essential).
-
SACAA-recognised Trade Test Certificate in Avionics or related disciplines, including Avionician, Aircraft Instrument Mechanic, Aircraft Electrician, or Aircraft Radio Technician (Essential).

Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with SACAA ratings WI, W2, and W3 (Essential).

B737-800 system courses completed (Essential).
-
B737-8 (MAX) system course (Advantageous).
-
Oxygen systems course (Advantageous).
-
Minimum of 5 years’ aviation maintenance experience (Essential).
-
Proven line maintenance and SVM experience (Essential).
-
Previous hands-on experience as an Aviation Technician on B737-800 avionics systems (Essential).

Experience on B737-8 (MAX) avionics systems (Advantageous).
-
On-the-Job Training experience (Advantageous).
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required.

Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice.

Valid South African passport and driver’s licence.
-
Strong understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation, including SWPM.
-
Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards.
-
Solid understanding of avionics schematic systems.
-
Excellent troubleshooting expertise on B737-800 aircraft.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
