Job Description
The Profit Analyst supports the Business Unit Financial Manager by delivering accurate financial planning, analysis, and performance insights to drive sustainable business results.

Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles

Liaise with Business Unit stakeholders to consolidate accurate budgets and forecasts

Analyse budget and forecast variances and provide recommendations to improve business performance

Perform in-depth analysis on key financial risks and opportunities

Identify, interpret, and communicate financial levers impacting business results with clear, actionable insights

Review key business initiatives to ensure required financial returns are achieved

Support the preparation and presentation of business cases to the Investment Committee

Monitor implementation of approved initiatives to ensure delivery of planned benefits

Identify cost management and efficiency opportunities to enhance shareholder returns

Provide recommendations on process improvements and expense optimisation

Contribute positively to the execution of Business Unit strategy and overall performance

Collaborate effectively within the broader Finance, Planning, and Performance teams to deliver finance strategy objectives
Minimum Requirements

Relevant financial qualification such as BCom or CA (SA)

5–10 years’ experience in a profit analysis or similar financial role
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong financial modelling capability for ongoing Business Unit performance management

Ability to develop and deliver clear, insightful financial management information

Proven analytical skills with the confidence to challenge and recommend improvements
