Job Description

Truworths is seeking a skilled IT Developer (BI/DW) to join our IT team. This role focuses on developing, enhancing, and maintaining data warehouses and Business Intelligence solutions that support actionable insights across the business. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically strong, and experienced in BI/DW environments, capable of delivering high-quality data solutions in an agile setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions

• Apply practical knowledge of the Data Warehouse Life Cycle

• Participate in architectural forums and contribute to BI strategy development

• Develop and maintain data models (Dimensional, Multi-dimensional, Relational)

• Design and implement ETL architecture and processes

• Automate processes and optimise architecture

• Write and maintain PL/SQL code for data integration

• Integrate data between legacy and modern systems

• Collaborate with business users to understand and confirm specifications

• Develop ad-hoc scripts to support user queries

• Manage batch processing and scheduling

• Maintain agile documentation and participate in peer and code reviews

• Provide daily technical, functional, and operational support for BI solutions

• Contribute to the evolution of the BI/DW architecture towards modern platforms, both on-premise and cloud-based

Qualifications and Experience

• BSc or BCom in Information Systems, IT/IS diploma, or substantial experience in Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in data warehousing and/or ETL environments

• Experience in data and report modelling

• Previous retail systems experience is advantageous

• Experience with batch processing and scheduling

• Proven ability to document technical requirements and build relationships with business users
