Job Overview
FlySafair Careers is seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Product Owner to manage the end-to-end execution of a defined digital product stream. This role bridges strategy and delivery, ensuring digital solutions are built, released, and continuously improved in alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Delivery

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of an assigned digital product stream

• Own, refine, and prioritise the product backlog in line with the product roadmap

• Translate the Product Manager’s vision into clear, actionable user stories and backlog items

• Manage sprint cycles and maintain a groomed, transparent, and up-to-date backlog

• Support sprint execution by clarifying requirements through detailed user stories and designs

• Align features and releases with roadmap milestones and business priorities

Agile Execution & Team Collaboration

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

• Conduct sprint retrospectives and drive continuous improvement

• Track sprint-level KPIs such as velocity, story completion, and defect rates

• Identify delivery blockers and work with teams to resolve them efficiently

• Ensure team output remains aligned with sprint goals and overall product strategy

User Experience, Validation & Performance

• Collaborate closely with UX/UI teams to define and support customer journeys

• Validate product increments with users to ensure value delivery

• Monitor feature performance metrics and apply data-driven insights to enhance solutions

• Provide feedback loops from delivery into strategic planning

Communication, Documentation & Enablement

• Coordinate release planning and communicate progress, risks, timelines, and changes

• Ensure visibility and transparency across stakeholders

• Document user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and feature documentation

• Build and maintain a shared knowledge base accessible across teams

• Create guides, training materials, and instructional content for cross-functional teams

• Support training, adoption, and smooth handover of new releases to business units

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Engagement

• Streamline development processes to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market

• Fulfil a cross-functional role by facilitating effective communication between business units

• Provide insights from delivery execution to inform product strategy and planning

• Promote continuous learning and best practices across teams

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience & Knowledge

• 4+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst

• Proven experience in software projects and digital solutions

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and product lifecycle execution

• Backlog management, user story mapping, and sprint planning expertise

• Understanding of UX principles and acceptance criteria definition

• Practical experience with relevant digital and Agile tools

• Scrum certification is advantageous
