Trainee Manager – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The Trainee Manager supports the Store Manager in protecting and growing profitable market share by assisting with the effective management of store operations in line with Store, Division, and Company strategies.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with at least two years’ retail management experience
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Valid South African ID or valid local work permit
-
Strong accounting and numerical skills
-
Computer literacy (basic level)
-
Proven leadership and people management skills
-
Strong administrative capability
-
Ability to work under pressure
-
Own transport and personal cell phone
-
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with OHSA and relevant legislation

Strong human resource management skills

Assist in developing, implementing, and managing the Store Business Plan aligned with Company strategy

Support execution of strategic initiatives as directed by Divisional and Operations Management

Promote customer loyalty programmes and in-store marketing initiatives

Asset Control – Stock

Assist in controlling shrinkage and managing stock loss

Support PIC processes and wall-to-wall stock takes

Control internal stock movement, IBTs, customer returns, and receiving

Assist with security assessments and implementation of corrective actions
Asset Control – Cash

Assist with management of debtors and returned cheques
-
Control petty cash and daily banking processes
-
Manage shorts, overs, cheques, and credit card transactions
Asset Control – Fixed Assets
-
Assist with maintenance and protection of racking, displays, and signage
-
Ensure proper upkeep of forklifts, generators, IT equipment, telephone systems, and safes
Human Resource Management

Assist with recruitment, induction, and onboarding of employees
-
Support training, development, succession planning, and career pathing
-
Manage manpower requirements in line with Company benchmarks
-
Maintain open communication through employee engagement platforms
-
Assist with employee relations and performance management
Store Safety (OHSA) Standards

Support implementation of safety standards in line with OHSA legislation
-
Ensure safety checklists are completed and safety representatives appointed

Record and report all incidents accurately

Maintain high housekeeping and merchandising standards

Ensure yard and parking areas are clean, safe, and organised
