System Supervisor – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The System Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising all Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling, efficient banking processes, and high levels of customer satisfaction through effective cash office and POS administration.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with five years’ related experience, or a minimum of ten years’ relevant work experience

Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language

Key Performance Areas
Point of Sale and Customer Service
-
Ensure all card and electronic POS transactions are processed efficiently and accurately
-
Assist customers with enquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving or escalating issues where necessary
-
Deliver fast, friendly, and professional service at all times
-
Communicate clearly and effectively to support customer satisfaction
-
Control and maintain adequate levels of stationery and consumables within the store
Cash Handling and Banking
-
Control store floats, including petty cash, till floats, and change floats
-
Manage change ordering and dispensing processes
-
Balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers in the petty cash ledger
-
Process back-office transactions and perform cashier and back-office cash-ups
-
Ensure all customer returns are valid and correctly processed
-
Resolve cash clearance queries and discrepancies promptly
-
Ensure timely till pick-ups and secure handling of cash
-
Perform end-of-day sessions on all POS terminals
-
Conduct daily cash-ups for all POS terminals, including the back-office terminal
-
Ensure a second designated employee is present during CIT collections
-
Ensure daily takings are collected by the Cash-in-Transit service

Keep the cash office neat, secure, and well-organised at all times

Ensure all cash office documentation is correctly filed and up to date
People Management

Ensure sufficient cashier coverage to assist customers effectively

Maintain trained backup cashiers at all times

Monitor execution of daily cashier duties and required checklists

Schedule staff shifts, leave, and time off in a timely manner

Provide product knowledge training to cashiers as agreed with the Store Manager

Supervise POS staff performance and provide ongoing feedback
-
Ensure all cashiers comply with the company dress code
Safety (OHSA) Compliance

Ensure all safety standards and procedures are consistently followed

Remain vigilant of suspicious activities inside and outside the store

Maintain strict password and system security controls
-
Ensure the cash office is secured at all times
-
Keep the cash office door locked during cash-ups, pick-ups, and CIT collections
-
Ensure till pick-ups are conducted within approved parameters

Restrict cash office access to authorised personnel only

Safeguard safe keys and ensure secure custody
-
Prohibit storage of stock, rations, or unrelated documentation in the cash office
