Goods Receiving Supervisor – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The Goods Receiving Supervisor is responsible for receiving and returning stock from suppliers and other stores, accurately capturing goods receiving documentation on the system, labelling stock, and ensuring all received stock is promptly dispatched to the sales floor for merchandising.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with at least one year of related experience, or a minimum of two years’ relevant experience

Ability to communicate effectively in English and preferably the dominant local language

Above-average numerical skills

Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Computer literacy

Willingness to work shifts and weekends
Key Performance Areas
Receiving and IBT Stock
-
Ensure a second designated employee is present during receiving and dispatch of stock
-
Receive stock from suppliers, verify goods against delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders
-
Complete and stamp proof of delivery documentation and return to suppliers as required
-
Capture all receiving transactions accurately on the system within prescribed timeframes
-
Ensure discrepancies are amended, endorsed, and signed off by the supplier representative, including truck registration details

Process all inter-branch transfers (IBTs) in and out within required timelines and file all supporting documentation
Stock Distribution

Ensure all received stock is cleared from the GRS office and merchandised on the sales floor within prescribed receiving time limits
Stock Labelling and Pricing

Label all stock without printed SKUs with the correct SKU on the product

Verify accuracy of printed SKUs and rectify any discrepancies

Adhere strictly to Cashbuild pricing policies

Action pending price changes in line with the Cashbuild Way
Supplier Claims and Corrections

Validate supplier claims with approved pickup slips or credit notes attached to adjustment vouchers

Ensure all corrections are supported by required documentation and authorised by the Store Manager

Raise supplier claims only when stock is ready for immediate collection
Security Awareness

Ensure the receiving gate is never left unattended when open

Secure receiving stamps and purchase order books in a locked cupboard or drawer

Keep the GRS office locked when not in use
-
Ensure supplier truck crews remain at their vehicles and do not loiter in the store
Ready for Business

Maintain a clean and orderly GRS office at all times

Keep receiving areas clear of excess or damaged stock, except items awaiting return to suppliers

Adhere to all Ready for Business and Beyond My Control processes
Customer Service

Comply with the Cashbuild dress code and display name badge at all times

Assist suppliers with queries professionally

Deliver exceptional service to any customers interacting with the GRS function
Safety (OHSA) Compliance

Ensure first aid equipment is accessed only by authorised personnel

Comply with OHSA requirements within the area of responsibility

Report all safety concerns to the Store Manager
