System Supervisor – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The System Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising all Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring exceptional customer service. This role oversees Cash Office operations, banking processes, and related POS administrative functions to maintain accuracy, security, and efficiency.
Requirements

Grade 12 with 5 years related experience or a minimum of 10 years work-related experience

Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language

Strong numeric skills and attention to detail

Proven ability to provide excellent customer service

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Computer literate with previous cashier experience
Key Responsibilities
POS Transactions and Customer Service
-
Ensure all speed point transactions, including credit and debit cards, are processed accurately and efficiently

Assist customers with requests, queries, and complaints; escalate where necessary
-
Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers
-
Maintain availability of stationery and consumables in the store
Cash Handling and Banking

Control store floats (Petty Cash, Till Floats, Change Floats)
-
Manage change ordering and dispensing
-
Balance and record Petty Cash expenses and vouchers
-
Process back-office transactions and perform daily cash-ups for all POS terminals
-
Ensure valid handling of returns and proper cash clearance
-
Coordinate Cash in Transit (CIT) collections with a second designated employee
-
Complete End of Day sessions for all POS terminals
Ready for Business

Ensure Ready for Business procedures are implemented

Maintain Cash Office and cashier areas in a neat and organized manner

Keep all Cash Office documentation up to date and properly filed
People Management

Supervise all cashiers and ensure their presence in their areas of responsibility

Ensure trained backups are available for all shifts
-
Oversee daily execution of cashier duties and adherence to checklists

Schedule POS staff, including leave, time off, and days off

Provide product knowledge training in coordination with the Store Manager

Monitor and evaluate employee performance

Ensure compliance with company dress code
Safety and Security

Adhere to OHSA safety standards
-
Maintain security awareness within the store and Cash Office
-
Keep the Cash Office secured; lock doors during Pick-Ups, Cash-Ups, and CIT collections

Control access to safe keys and ensure proper custody

Prevent unauthorized persons from accessing Cash Office areas
