Job Overview
The New Business Development Consultant is responsible for identifying, securing, and growing new business opportunities while expanding an existing client portfolio. This role focuses on delivering end-to-end, integrated risk mitigation and security solutions by designing, costing, and presenting comprehensive proposals across the full spectrum of the company’s commercial and group offerings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Proactively generate new business through networking, cold calling, and market engagement
- Grow and manage an existing client base while securing profitable new clients
- Achieve and exceed revenue and sales targets as set by management
- Identify and develop sales opportunities within defined markets to maximise growth
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term professional relationships with clients
- Attend to potential and existing clients across allocated areas of responsibility
- Address and resolve client queries promptly and professionally
- Plan, coordinate, and manage client requirements to ensure high levels of satisfaction
Solution Design & Proposal Management
- Conduct physical site surveys to assess security and risk requirements
- Design, cost, and compile complete integrated security solutions
- Prepare, present, and submit complex proposals and quotations timeously
- Ensure all contracts and quotations are accurate, complete, and include required drawings or technical addendums
- Ensure only approved equipment is sold in accordance with company policies
- Submit all documentation timeously to allow for sourcing of non-standard stock items
Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Compile and submit weekly and monthly management and sales reports
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitor activity
- Assist with marketing-related initiatives and activities as required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Post-matric qualification or equivalent
- Proven senior solution sales experience within the security industry
- Computer literate with strong proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Professional and well-presented at all times
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours when required
- Prepared to travel as part of the role
- Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle
- PSIRA Grade C registered as per company requirements
