CCTV and Alarm Technician – Fidelity Vacancies

Reports To: Technical Manager

Job Overview
Fidelity Vacancies is seeking a skilled CCTV and Alarm Technician to join our technical team. This role involves the installation, programming, servicing, and fault-finding of alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, and access control solutions, ensuring high-quality service for our clients.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
• Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations, and troubleshooting alarm systems
• PSIRA Grade C registration (compulsory)
• Valid driver’s licence

Technical Knowledge

• Proficient with DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Telecom alarm systems
• Knowledge of CCTV, intercom, and access control systems advantageous
• Ability to work standby when required

Key Duties – Technical

• Perform alarm installations according to quotations and specifications
• Program alarm panels and systems as per client requirements
• Issue on-site quotes for additional equipment when necessary
• Plan and coordinate cable runs with wiremen
• Obtain customer codes before attending service calls and during standby
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards for each installation
• Provide timely feedback to Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre upon completion of calls

Performance Standards – Technical

• Ensure installations match quotations and company standards
• Program alarms according to FADT guidelines
• Accurately quote additional equipment when needed
• Adhere to all SHE requirements
• Collect correct customer information before attending calls
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards accurately and on time
• Provide timely feedback to all relevant stakeholders

Key Duties – General

• Download sites daily
• Maintain stock and assist storeman with stock takes
• Keep company vehicle clean and presentable
• Submit petrol slips weekly

Performance Standards – General

• Ensure stock levels are accurate and report discrepancies promptly
• Maintain a clean company vehicle at all times
• Submit petrol slips on schedule
