Job Description
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team at Westville Junction. This role is responsible for managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, delivering quality care within the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• BHF registration for nursing practitioners
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Advantageous:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner duties according to industry regulations and best practices
• Manage patient flow and clinic objectives to optimize service delivery
• Ensure all clinic services are consistently available
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow-up communications
• Keep the clinic operational according to scheduled hours
• Process claims accurately and on time
• Maintain clinic stock and equipment in proper working condition
• Monitor inventory levels to meet business requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, colleagues, store and dispensary management, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD insertion, pharmacology, immunisation (EPI/cold chain management), STD management, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
• Participation in quarterly CPD and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Understanding of financial implications of clinic targets
• Analytical skills to evaluate monthly clinic statistics and performance
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthy and honest
• Ability to manage self and team; self-directed and motivated
• Time management skills

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge of business objectives
• Certification in baby immunisation, family planning, primary health care, breastfeeding, and disease management

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to work retail hours
• Physically fit to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
