Purpose of the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by managing and expanding a diverse customer portfolio that includes retail, commercial, and industrial clients. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer needs while achieving revenue and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new customer opportunities across multiple market sectors.
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts to ensure long-term partnerships and repeat business.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Manage customer credit accounts, payment terms, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Present, promote, and sell company products and services to prospective and existing customers.
- Address customer enquiries, resolve issues, and effectively overcome objections.
- Monitor and report on customer feedback, competitor activity, and pricing trends.
- Implement sales strategies aligned with overall business and marketing initiatives.
- Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Follow assigned daily route plans and ensure all customer visits are completed on schedule.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Five to ten years of proven sales experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
