Job Purpose
The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of staff and outreach teams, managing the mobile clinic or work vehicle, and supporting logistics, including loading and unloading equipment. The role also supports Wellness Counsellors, Peer Educators, and Human Rights Ambassadors by introducing programmes, providing health education and harm reduction, and assisting with data capturing and reporting of outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
Transport and Logistics
- Safely transport staff to outreach sites and offices.
- Manage and maintain the mobile clinic or work vehicle.
- Keep accurate fuel, mileage, and maintenance records.
- Load and unload field equipment such as chairs, tents, and generators.
- Report any damages and adhere to road safety regulations.
- Follow Anova’s vehicle policy and submit weekly inspection checklists.
Outreach Support
- Assist the outreach team by providing youth-centred information, self-care advice, risk reduction strategies, and condom distribution.
- Support Human Rights Ambassadors in educating communities on GBV, PrEP, and SRH.
- Link HIV-positive clients to care and support ART initiation.
- Ensure IQC compliance, proper waste management, and infection control.
- Manage HTS supplies and ensure correct storage.
Administrative Support
- Complete and submit client data daily.
- Monitor data to meet programme targets.
- Perform delegated administrative tasks while maintaining professional conduct.
- Build relationships with health facilities to support client linkage.
- Submit timesheets accurately and on time.
Data Capture and Data Management
- Follow SOPs for data management and quality processes.
- Conduct routine pre-retrieval of folders and capture data into electronic medical record systems.
- Perform data audits and report on key programme indicators.
- Ensure timely submission of all relevant reports.
- Participate in data quality improvement activities.
- Generate and action line lists for patient and programme management using electronic medical records.
- Maintain proper filing systems to strengthen data management.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and risk management protocols for staff access to information systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP.
- Minimum 3 years’ driving experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
