Purpose of the Job
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within petrol station forecourts and related convenience outlets. This role demands a strong understanding of forecourt operations, excellent relationship management, and the ability to perform in high-volume, fast-paced environments with frequent stock turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail segment, focusing on beverages and snacks.
- Manage private label products effectively.
- Provide high-frequency service to ensure product availability and maintain merchandising standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with site managers and forecourt staff.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Manage promotional activations, including executing promotions and point-of-sale displays at forecourt locations.
- Track SKU performance, especially fast-moving items, and recommend assortment improvements.
- Provide insights into consumer buying behavior at forecourts.
- Execute visits based on route plans, prioritizing forecourts and adhering to NDDs.
- Assist with credit control and reconcile on-site transactions or payments.
- Compile and present activity reports specific to the forecourt channel.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 5–10 years of relevant sales experience, with at least 3 years in Forecourt or Convenience Sales
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record of sales achievement over the last 12 months
