Responsibilities
- Develop and execute area sales plans, managing both direct routes and 3rd party distributors.
- Lead and coach a team of sales representatives and supervisors to achieve sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Analyze regional sales forecasts, competitor activities, and market data to drive strategy.
- Negotiate trading terms, pricing, shelf space, and promotions.
- Oversee sales operations including order management, logistics, deliveries, and scheduling.
- Manage numeric distribution, promotional distribution, and expiring/expired stock.
- Ensure efficient use of promotional assets, functional resources, and SAP systems.
- Monitor team performance, manage talent development, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and control working capital items such as debtors and product returns.
- Extract and share consumer marketing data to inform growth strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional and interdepartmental initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales and Operations Management within FMCG.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Key Account Management in FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of the industry, customer segments, and consumer behavior patterns.
- Experience in market data analysis, planning, and ROI calculations.
- Excellent negotiation and mathematical skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change processes, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
