Back Door Specialist

Purpose of the Job
The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations, minimise failures, and maintain strong relationships with back door teams. The role involves managing and resolving operational issues, supporting compliance, and driving efficiency in stock handling and processing.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with store and distribution centre back door teams.
• Conduct monthly visits to each assigned back door to monitor operations and compliance.
• Provide support in resolving issues between back doors and Value operations.

Operational Oversight

• Understand processes at each back door, from receipt to dispatch, including returns, to ensure smooth stock flow.
• Monitor, improve, and increase turnaround times at back doors.
• Ensure bookings are processed efficiently and escalate potential delays in offloading Value vehicles.
• Drive implementation and use of technology to improve procedures and operational efficiency.
• Manage procedures to minimise returns and ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Maintain and update back door and distribution centre requirements on a monthly basis.

Problem-Solving & Reporting

• Identify discrepancies and analyse operational data to highlight areas for improvement.
• Resolve issues proactively with both back door teams and internal operations.
• Ensure all actions are completed within set deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field beneficial
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Retail and Distribution Centre back door operations, audits, and problem-solving delayed offloading
• Own transport
