Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is seeking a dynamic Sales Coach & Merchandising Manager to join our Commercial Department. This role is responsible for leading regional sales execution, coaching teams, and ensuring merchandising excellence to drive market performance and customer engagement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Execution and Sales Discipline

  • Lead regional execution and embed core sales disciplines to enhance trade visibility and market performance.

Field Coaching & Capability Building

  • Deliver in-field and classroom coaching to improve team skills and trade effectiveness.
  • Monitor KPI implementation, conduct audits, track action plans, and ensure timely reporting.

Training Strategy & Calendar Execution

  • Design, deliver, and track customized and generic training solutions aligned to business needs.
  • Measure training impact, maintain skill-level trackers, and regional training records in collaboration with HR/L&D.

Best Practice Sharing & Motivation

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, motivate teams through skill-building initiatives, and track budgeted training spend.

Merchandising Excellence & Customer Service

  • Lead regional merchandising strategy execution aligned with national priorities and trade standards.
  • Maintain high service levels through proactive trade engagement, feedback loops, and innovative merchandising solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales and Trade Marketing, to ensure alignment and flawless execution.

SLA Compliance & Vendor Management

  • Manage third-party merchandising service providers, ensuring SLA compliance, performance expectations, and contractual obligations.
  • Address service delivery issues promptly and drive corrective actions to maintain quality execution.

Budget & Capability Management

  • Monitor regional merchandising budgets and align spend with trade priorities and ROI benchmarks.
  • Identify capability gaps within internal and external teams and provide training and support for consistent execution.

Merchandising Model Implementation & Tracking

  • Roll out and monitor merchandising strategy across channels, ensuring alignment with brand and commercial objectives.
  • Maintain master data accuracy and manage internal/external systems, routines, and contact sessions.

Talent Development & Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and manage teams through goal-setting, coaching, and performance management.
  • Cascade organizational goals to regional teams for alignment and execution.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  • Coaching coverage per plan/calendar
  • RED compliance (% of outlets meeting core execution standards)
  • iRED/CLI score for in-trade execution quality
  • Call frequency adherence
  • Net sales revenue and merchandising budget management
  • Execution score (RED, PDA compliance)
  • Merchandising adherence and SLA compliance

Skills, Experience & Education

Education

  • 3-year Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in Sales Management or Coaching roles
  • Proven track record in capability building, preferably in FMCG or execution-focused environments
  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant digital tools
  • People management experience
