Clicks Group Careers – Pharmacist Assistant QPB

Introduction

Clicks Group Careers is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacist Assistant QPB to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care within scope of practice while managing day-to-day dispensary administration in line with Standard Operating Procedures. This role focuses on accurate script administration and efficient dispensing support to ensure excellent patient satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job Objectives
Customer Interaction & Confidentiality

  • Engage with customers professionally while maintaining strict confidentiality in line with SOPs and agreed service timelines.
  • Provide clear, courteous communication to support positive patient experiences.

Dispensary Administration & Script Processing

  • Administer prescriptions and complete all claiming and capturing procedures accurately and timeously.
  • Ensure all patient profiles are handled accurately and maintained in full compliance with company standards.
  • Capture prescriptions accurately at the Central Pharmacy Centre and resolve prescription-related queries.

Clinical Support & Collaboration

  • Liaise with healthcare professionals when required to support safe and effective patient care.
  • Assist with chronic authorisations and follow up on outstanding documentation and queries.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth operational flow and service delivery.

Query Resolution & Operational Support

  • Handle patient and prescription queries via telephone or other communication channels.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues and follow up to completion.
  • Support ad hoc operational requirements in line with business needs.

Knowledge

  • Product knowledge, including OTC medicines
  • Regulatory and legal knowledge aligned with South African Pharmacy Council requirements
  • Chronic authorisation processes and procedures
  • Customer service excellence principles
  • Ethical working practices and compliance standards

Skills

  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office
  • Customer service orientation with a patient-first approach
  • Team player with high integrity
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Bilingual communication skills with English as a requirement
  • Adaptability to support patients and assist across departments
  • Initiative to enhance patient satisfaction
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure
