Cosmetic Consultant – Dischem Vacancies

Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies at Blue Route is seeking a dedicated Cosmetic Consultant to promote and sell cosmetic and beauty products while delivering exceptional customer service. This role focuses on enhancing the customer experience, driving sales, and maintaining attractive merchandising displays.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Retail experience as a sales consultant
• Computer literate
• Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• Experience in cosmetics, fragrances, or beauty products

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer care and service
• Escalate serious or unresolved customer complaints to management
• Demonstrate products through makeovers, cosmetics demonstrations, spray promotions, and in-store activities
• Manage stock levels following Dis-Chem procedures, reporting shortages, damaged, or expired stock
• Ensure merchandising and displays are attractive and well-maintained
• Maximise store income by achieving department, brand, and vendor sales targets
• Stay informed about products, brands, and retail industry trends
• Manage salon appointments and cosmetic promotions
• Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations

Competencies:

Essential:

• Strong command of English (written and verbal)
• Team player with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to understand stock reports, sales targets, and commission calculations
• Ability to follow and execute task schedules

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of promotions, personal selling, and customer liaison
• Previous sales and promotional training
• Experience managing expired or damaged stock and stock rotation
• Bilingual
• Stock management skills

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willingness to work retail hours
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• South African citizenship
• Clear credit and criminal records
