Purpose of the Role
The Manager Treasury Europe is responsible for leading and managing the treasury function for Sasol’s European entities. The role ensures effective coordination, execution, and control of all treasury-related processes within Sasol Germany and Sasol Italy, while also providing treasury services to other Sasol entities across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the treasury operations for Sasol’s European entities.
- Ensure efficient treasury structures, processes, and IT solutions are in place to support operational excellence.
- Oversee and ensure the accurate execution of cash management, payment transactions, foreign exchange trading, money market activities, guarantees, financial and liquidity planning, treasury reporting, and other treasury operations.
- Analyze and manage financial risks including liquidity, interest rate, currency, and counterparty risks, while ensuring sufficient liquidity is available at all times.
- Manage and coordinate internal and external financing activities in collaboration with Corporate Finance, including cash pooling structures, internal and external loans, silver leasing, and supply chain financing programs.
- Monitor and manage the investment portfolio related to occupational pension funds.
- Act as the primary contact and negotiation partner for banking institutions.
- Lead or support treasury-related projects and provide expert support to other functions and entities, including during annual financial reporting processes.
- Lead, motivate, and develop treasury team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Participate in personnel decisions in collaboration with the human resources department in line with company policies.
- Deliver treasury services for Sasol Germany and Sasol Italy and provide service support to other Sasol entities across Europe.
Education and Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional experience within the treasury department of an industrial company.
Experience Required
- 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in treasury or financial management.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong expertise in treasury instruments and financial risk management.
- Advanced knowledge of treasury software, SAP modules, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and forward-thinking mindset.
- High level of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative and coordination skills.
- Flexibility and experience working in cross-functional teams and projects.
- Previous leadership experience within treasury, preferably in the chemical or a similar industrial sector.
