Project Manager – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Job
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring full understanding of project scope and alignment with operational objectives. The role aims to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards across the Logistics division and related areas.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead and manage projects, including operational improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Deliver tangible business outcomes using structured project management methodologies
  • Develop detailed project plans, including task scheduling and timeline estimation
  • Assign roles and responsibilities for project tasks
  • Monitor and report on project status and progress, escalating issues when necessary
  • Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and project outcomes are achieved
  • Manage project administration, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action points
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all project activities
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders and provide timely feedback

Project-Related Tasks

  • Analyse business and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities
  • Gather, document, and present business requirements and analysis findings
  • Create process documentation, flowcharts, and solution-oriented documentation
  • Conduct research to support project application and implementation

General

  • Perform general administrative duties to support project operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management preferred
  • PMI certification (CAPM or PMP) preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management
