Job Overview
The BREWING OPERATOR-3 is responsible for operating and monitoring brewing processes to ensure optimal plant performance, product quality, and safety compliance. The role supports production operations by maintaining brewing systems, performing quality checks, and contributing to continuous improvement within the brewing environment.
Key Attributes and Competencies
Plant and Process Operations
- Operate and monitor the brewhouse plant and related brewing processes.
- Manage beverage fermentation, filtration, and FAB plant operations.
- Optimize plant and process performance to ensure efficient production output.
- Perform housekeeping duties while applying 5S principles and maintaining safe working practices.
- Identify unsafe work practices and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe production environment.
- Manage territorial safety responsibilities and raise safety incident observations and risk notifications where required.
- Support the development, review, and documentation of standard work procedures including process maps, quick-fix routines, and standard operating procedures.
Quality Control and Analysis
- Conduct required quality checks and analyses and record results in the relevant information systems.
- Identify and address quality issues using appropriate problem-solving methods.
- Complete all required documentation related to quality monitoring and corrective actions.
- Escalate unresolved quality or process issues to the relevant supervisors for further investigation and resolution.
Communication and Reporting
- Participate actively in team meetings and performance reviews.
- Record issues, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities using operational logs and checklists.
- Use relevant communication platforms such as shift logbooks to ensure clear information sharing between teams.
- Complete comprehensive shift handovers to incoming team members, ensuring all information related to plant performance and product quality is communicated.
Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
- Respond quickly to upstream or downstream issues that may affect process stability.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis and quick-fix routines to resolve operational challenges.
- Review operational procedures and implement improvement actions where required.
Team Collaboration
- Support and coach team members in plant operations and brewing processes.
- Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve problems in a dynamic operational environment.
- Work effectively within autonomous teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate initiative, energy, and a strong commitment to achieving operational excellence.
Work Flexibility
- Be available to work flexible schedules, including shifts outside normal working hours and weekends when required to meet production targets.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Science, Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Completion of brewing training or relevant brewing certification is advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office and SAP systems.
- Experience in a brewing, beverage manufacturing, FMCG, or process plant environment is preferred.
- Previous experience operating brewhouse equipment is advantageous.
