Job Description

The Debt Review Agent is responsible for managing and processing legal and administrative activities related to accounts under debt review. This role involves analyzing account histories, ensuring all legal documentation is accurately maintained, and supporting effective collections processes through informed decision-making and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts under debt review, administration, sequestration, debt consolidation, and mediation
• Handle administration orders, court notices, and court orders in line with legal requirements
• Review and analyze account history prior to initiating debtor contact
• Evaluate previous collection efforts to determine the most effective approach
• Engage professionally with customers and escalate complex cases where necessary
• Perform administrative duties related to specialized collections processes
• Accurately allocate payments to relevant accounts and manage refunds where applicable

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Debt Review environment is advantageous
• Experience in administrative tasks and data capturing

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good command of English and an additional language
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Knowledge of billing and collections procedures
• Understanding of the National Credit Act and collections environment
• Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate self-discipline and adaptability

Additional Information

• Applicants studying towards an LLB Degree or similar qualification will have an added advantage
• Must be willing to work Saturdays as required by business operations
• Successful candidates may undergo criminal checks, reference checks, and competency assessments
