Sales Representative – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Role

The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value Logistics services, with a strong focus on Truck Rental while actively cross-selling additional service offerings. The role requires building lasting client relationships, identifying customer needs, and driving revenue growth across the full range of logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Gather and analyze client transport and distribution data, including expenditure patterns
  • Evaluate opportunities and prioritize focus areas based on growth potential
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitors within the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster trust and long-term partnerships
  • Identify client service requirements and provide accurate, tailored quotes
  • Expand the existing customer base through cross-selling of Value Logistics services
  • Drive sales performance by effectively closing deals and securing new business
  • Target and manage national accounts to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of client contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms
  • Ensure services delivered align with current customer needs and expectations
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business to identify growth opportunities
  • Add value in every client interaction by setting clear objectives for each engagement
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and maintain service excellence
  • Maintain frequent and meaningful contact with key business stakeholders
  • Keep product and service knowledge up to date at all times
  • Identify and resolve client issues promptly, including invoices, claims, and POD queries
  • Uphold a professional image in all interactions and engagements
  • Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Submit sales reports accurately and within required timeframes
  • Achieve sales targets, budgets, and performance goals set by management
  • Support additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, aligned with business objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proven experience in a sales environment
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
