Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Fitment Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining and improving fitment quality within Fidelity Secure Drive operations. This role focuses on resolving customer-related issues, ensuring high installation standards, and representing the organisation in all fitment-related matters when required.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Management
- Ensure effective management and proper use of all allocated resources
Vehicle Management
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure roadworthiness at all times
- Monitor and manage traffic compliance
Tools and Equipment
- Safeguard all tools and ensure proper handling
- Maintain tools in good working condition
Stock Control
- Conduct regular stock takes
- Investigate and resolve all stock discrepancies
Devices and Communication
- Ensure all devices are fully operational
- Monitor and manage data usage effectively
Uniform and Personal Presentation
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform in line with required standards
- Ensure personal hygiene and presentation meet organisational requirements
Operational Support
- Provide on-the-job training and support to technicians when required
- Attend to and resolve customer complaints efficiently
- Deliver product and technical support both onsite and remotely
- Handle technical queries and client concerns professionally
- Assist with fitments and ensure installations meet quality and time standards
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of vehicle tracking systems
- Maintain and continuously improve fitment quality standards
- Support technical evaluations and fault diagnostics
- Implement and adhere to new and specialised fitment techniques, including OEM requirements
Compliance and Development
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
- Take initiative in personal development and skills enhancement
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback to relevant internal stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Valid driver’s license (Code B)
- Clear criminal record
- PSIRA Grade C certification
- Trade test in motor electrical, electronics, or related field preferred
- Auto-electrician qualification advantageous
- 6–10 years’ experience in vehicle tracking equipment fitment
