Job Description

Overview of the Role

The Creditors Clerk is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring that all supplier payments and reconciliations are completed accurately and within required timelines. Reporting to the Bookkeeper, this role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting effective cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and follow up on vendor, statement, and invoice discrepancies on a daily basis
  • Maintain accurate filing and organisation of invoices and reconciliations
  • Manage and update all supplier documentation
  • Prepare and process monthly accrual journals
  • Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly cash outflows
  • Manage petty cash and related cashbook transactions
  • Perform supplier reconciliations and prepare payment requisitions
  • Reconcile purchase orders against invoices
  • Capture invoices accurately on financial systems on a daily basis
  • Verify payment requisitions in line with company policies and procedures
  • Load and process payments on online banking platforms
  • Ensure supplier banking details are accurate and verified before payment
  • Respond to all payment-related queries from suppliers and internal staff
  • Conduct monthly supplier reconciliations to support payments
  • Maintain creditor records, including onboarding new suppliers onto the system
  • Prepare and submit monthly creditors age analysis reports
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in creditors and reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of SAP is advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • Own reliable transport
