Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager Pool to support operations across their stores. The role involves assisting the Store Manager in overseeing the full store operation, driving sales performance, managing staff, and ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand. The successful candidate will also be responsible for compiling reports through accurate data collection and analysis.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Retail/FMCG, covering departments such as Receiving, Administration, Cash Office, or Sales Floor Management
- At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Unisolv, SAP, or QlikView
- Previous experience using Kronos systems
Advantageous:
- Relevant Retail or FMCG qualification
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily human resource administration including leave, scheduling, and working hours
- Manage employee performance and ensure development plans are implemented
- Ensure daily ordering is completed accurately and maintain optimal stock levels
- Monitor and control stock flow onto the sales floor
- Coordinate and manage biannual stock takes with the Store Admin Manager
- Control and minimize stock shrinkage
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and queries efficiently
- Ensure merchandising standards are consistently maintained
- Plan, implement, and maintain promotional displays and stock
- Ensure compliance with pricing, labelling, and store layout standards
- Drive store performance to meet and exceed targets
Competencies
- Strong retail administration and store management experience
- Proficiency in receiving, admin processes, till operations, cash office, stock control, and customer service
- Excellent command of the English language
- Basic financial knowledge including GP, mark-up, and VAT
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team
- High level of integrity and reliability

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for local travel
