Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a detail-oriented Direct Receiving Clerk to manage the efficient and accurate receiving and packing of stock. This role ensures all stock is handled in line with company SOPs and meets store and customer requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Computer literate
• Strong numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• Previous experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG

Key Responsibilities

• Verify, scan, and capture all incoming goods accurately according to company policies
• Receive warehouse deliveries and invoices in line with SOPs
• Return unordered or damaged goods and complete credit notes accurately
• Confirm that delivered goods match invoices in quantity, variant, and condition
• Assist the Receiving Manager with warehouse claims processing
• Ensure stock receipts are processed and delivered to the sales floor promptly
• Process all supplier returns in compliance with company procedures
• Maintain physical controls and organization in the receiving area
• Keep storerooms in an orderly and safe condition
• Support the management and control of high-risk stock

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of receiving procedures and administrative processes
• Proficiency in English
• Effective communication and interaction with suppliers, management, and staff
• Strong analytical and time management skills
• Ability to lift heavy items (+20kg)

Advantageous:

• Bilingual skills
• Experience operating stock rotation systems

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Physically able to lift and move boxes (+20kg)
• Reliable transport and/or reside near the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
