Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Direct Receiving Clerk to join our team. The role involves accurately and efficiently receiving, inspecting, and processing stock from direct couriers, ensuring compliance with company SOPs, store requirements, and customer needs.

Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Computer literate
• Strong numerical skills
• Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• Previous experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verify, scan, and capture all goods received accurately, following company policies and SOPs
• Receive warehouse goods and invoices in line with company procedures
• Return unordered or damaged goods and complete credit notes as required
• Check deliveries and invoices for accuracy, including quantities, variants, and condition
• Support the Receiving Manager with warehouse claims and logging
• Ensure same-day processing of deliveries and movement to the store floor
• Process returns to suppliers according to SOPs
• Maintain physical controls over the receiving area
• Keep storerooms orderly and well-organized
• Assist in managing high-risk stock

Competencies:

Essential:

• Knowledge of receiving procedures and administration
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with suppliers, management, and staff
• Analytical and time management skills
• Physically able to lift and handle items over 20kg

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Experience operating stock rotation systems

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to work retail hours
• Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes (+20kg)
• Reliable transport and/or reside close to the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
