Job Description
The Senior Manager will be based at Head Office and play a key role in enhancing business performance through strategic analysis, reporting, and technical support. This position involves leading a team to design, implement, and optimise data-driven strategies that improve credit and customer outcomes while supporting overall business growth. The role requires extensive experience and a strong ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of analysts to design, build, and monitor credit and loyalty optimisation strategies that drive profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, evaluate feasibility, and develop testing frameworks to determine effectiveness
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies aligned with business and board objectives
- Present strategic recommendations, expected outcomes, and testing approaches to senior executives and board members
- Oversee the implementation of strategy changes into live systems and ensure successful execution
- Apply analytical and coding expertise within a retail credit environment
- Utilise predictive models and optimisation techniques to balance cost and revenue for improved performance
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Science, Commerce, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in retail credit, preferably within a store card environment
- Proven experience in building predictive models such as credit scorecards, marketing response models, propensity models, or machine learning models
- Strong experience with analytics programming languages such as SAS, Python, or R
- Demonstrated ability to apply predictive modelling within frameworks that optimise profitability
- Experience in project managing the implementation of strategic initiatives
- Strong coding capability within a retail or analytics environment
- Mathematical optimisation experience is highly advantageous
