Freight Forwarder, Air Export, Sky Services – Dsv Vacancies

Main Purpose of the Role

The Freight Forwarder, Air Export, Sky Services is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of export documentation, ensuring seamless air freight operations and compliance with industry standards. The role supports end-to-end export activities, including coordination with airlines, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective shipment handling.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Export Controller in air freight exports
• Experience with CargoWise1 or similar freight forwarding systems
• Proven ability to process AWBs, SAD500s, and all related export documentation
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations and industry requirements
• Knowledge of global geography and airline procedures, routines, and capabilities
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients via email and telephone
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
• High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
• Demonstrated leadership capability
• Own reliable transport

Qualifications

• Matric (essential)
• Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in Office 365 tools (Teams, OneNote, Forms, Outlook)
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience with CargoWise1 or similar systems (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and issue all required export documentation, including AWBs, SADs, phytosanitary certificates, PPECB documentation, and certificates of origin
• Coordinate airline bookings in line with agreed rates and schedules
• Communicate with clients regularly via email and telephone, ensuring excellent service delivery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date booking records and shipment lists
• Track shipments daily and provide timely status updates to clients
• Plan and coordinate daily shipment and warehouse activities
• Liaise with warehouse teams regarding deliveries and collections to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure compliance with all export regulations, procedures, and company standards
