About the Role
The Manager, Validation and Accreditation will lead and manage a team of validation professionals, ensuring all validation activities are executed efficiently and in compliance with industry standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational excellence across systems, equipment, facilities, and transport validation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a validation team of four staff members, ensuring high performance and compliance
- Oversee computer system validation, equipment validation, and warehouse and vehicle mapping
- Conduct risk analysis and effectiveness check reviews
- Manage and review CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) processes
- Maintain validation and calibration schedules in coordination with contractors
- Prepare and maintain validation documentation in line with 21 CFR Part 11, WHO, SAHPRA, and other regulatory requirements, including plans, protocols, and reports
- Ensure validation activities are completed on time and aligned with GWP standards and project milestones
- Participate in change control assessments and project meetings to safeguard compliance status
- Support corporate, regulatory, and internal audits
- Manage validation documentation and perform validation risk assessments
- Develop, review, and update departmental SOPs
- Collaborate with QA, Operations, Maintenance, and other teams to resolve audit findings and ensure continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
- Matric qualification
- Tertiary qualification in Validation, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field (essential)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a validation environment, preferably within a GWP distribution setting
- Proven experience in equipment, IT systems, warehouse, and vehicle validation (RA, URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Strong knowledge of protocol development and report compilation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent report writing and data interpretation abilities
- Knowledge of industry best practices such as GAMP and ISPE is advantageous
Additional Skills and Advantages
- Advanced computer literacy
- Experience with Delta systems (advantageous)
- Completion of relevant validation courses is beneficial
