Job Overview
The Alarm & CCTV Service Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing alarm and surveillance systems across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments. This role ensures that all systems are installed, programmed, and maintained to prescribed company and industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as an alarm technician
• Strong background in programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

Job Requirements and Attributes

• Valid driver’s license
• PSIRA registered, minimum Grade E
• Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom alarm systems
• Working knowledge of CCTV, intercom systems, and access control
• Willingness to work standby according to the duty roster
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities

• Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs on alarm systems
• Program and reprogram alarm panels in line with required standards
• Complete system handovers, quotations, and client link-ups
• Perform takeover reprogramming of existing alarm systems
• Carry out small installations when required
• Ensure all installations and programming meet prescribed company standards

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete daily drive sheets, job cards, and technical invoices
• Prepare accurate quotations for system upgrades
• Compile detailed job reports after each service call
• Conduct regular vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspections and report findings to the Field Line Manager
• Perform stock control checks and report shortages promptly
• Maintain company vehicle in a clean and presentable condition

Performance Standards
Technical

• Attend scheduled service calls timeously or reschedule where necessary
• Ensure alarm panels and installations comply with prescribed technical standards
• Complete all technical documentation accurately and within required timeframes

Administrative

• Ensure drive sheets, job reports, invoices, and quotations are accurate and submitted on time
• Complete inspection checks weekly as required
• Maintain accurate stock levels and report missing items immediately
• Ensure the company vehicle is kept clean and well maintained at all times
